Our mission and commitment to honor and respect diversity, is reflected in our approach to design. Shepherd Sterling designs and commissions limited edition art by collaborating with designers from diverse cultural and international backgrounds. We are currently partnering with artists globally, to produce product lines that portray great character, soul and aesthetic beauty. We present to you our collaborations with our first artists-in-residence Natasha Gill and Joel Hinkson.
Born in Switzerland with a multi ethnic heritage, and having lived in both Latin America and The Caribbean, Natasha leverages a wealth of diverse perspectives for inspiration. With a background in fine art, product design and advertising, diversity of style and process has become her artistic trademark. From photo-realism to portraiture to abstraction, Natasha is passionate about evoking powerful emotion through her work.
Drawing upon his fascination with visual art, design and fine art photography, Joel Hinkson is passionate about capturing moments that evoke and inspire. He is adamant about applying proven geometric and mathematical formulas to his captures, resulting in moments that celebrate the beauty of our planet. You can find Joel hiking epic mountain ranges and rainforests in Latin America or some of the most gorgeous coastlines of The Caribbean, in search of amazing captures to share with the world.
